Prior to setting up an initial appointment, I want to make sure that I'm able to best support you. Once we complete our discovery call, you'll set up an initial appointment either by phone or email.

Start with a discovery call

This 75-minute one-on-one session will begin with taking a look at your health history, lifestyle, and your relationship to food and your body. Together, we will identify how you can begin your Intuitive Eating journey.

In each of these 45-minute sessions, we will review your progress, recognize your successes, work through your challenges, and help you to move forward on your Intuitive Eating journey.

The goal of our work together is to tune into (and eventually trust!) your body signals to meet your physical and psychological needs and learn to let go and challenge the rules, beliefs, and thoughts you have around food. We'll set individual goals together that feel most supportive for you, whether it's related to chronic dieting, body image concerns, or recovering from an eating disorder like Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, or Binge Eating Disorder.

WHAT IS INTUITIVE EATING OR NON-DIET APPROACH?

Intuitive eating is a non-diet approach to health and wellness that focuses on listening to your body signals; breaking the cycle of chronic dieting; and healing your relationship with food. It was created by two registered dietitians, Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch, in 1995, based on their experience working with clients. Intuitive eating is an evidence-based model and is based on 10 principles. 

WHAT IS A “WEIGHT-INCLUSIVE” APPROACH?

A weight inclusive approach is an alternative to the weight-centered paradigm. It takes the emphasis off of weight as a focal point in healthcare. Instead, it focuses on self-care behaviors and tries to minimize weight stigma. It challenges the belief that a person’s BMI reflects their health practices, health status, or moral character. The weight-inclusive approach prioritizes the ethical principle held by health care professions “above all, do no harm.”

Health At Every Size (HAES) is a movement working to promote size-acceptance, to end weight discrimination, and to lessen the cultural obsession with weight loss and thinness. The HAES approach promotes balanced eating, life-enhancing physical activity, and respect for the diversity of body shapes and sizes. (ASDAH)

Yes, I do! Currently, I accept Blue Shield of California PPO and United Healthcare PPO insurance. I am also happy to provide you with a superbill so that you may submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
